| Today 3 years ago GCW was born mostly to combat the Illegal TOC & OverSized CD protections that were popping up and which stopped us (temporarily) from making working backups. Later that month the first SafeDisc protected games arrived making it more interesting to keep this site alive!
Within 2 months we had the 10.000 visitors per day, which seemed much at the time (currently we are over 200.000). That was also the time when the mirror system was setup because there were just too many visitors to keep a single server up and running. This system has proven itself over and over again as there has always been at least a few servers available.
We have to say thanks to all people who supported us by sending files & info this past years, without you it would have taken too much time to roam the internet in search of the needed files! |
